Kara heads the Morgan Stanley Wealth Management Diversity & Inclusion team and is responsible for leading diversity initiatives throughout 600 retail branch offices in the United States. Her team partners with field managers in sourcing, recruiting talent development and business development efforts.
In 2015, Kara was named a MAKER at Morgan Stanley, an internal and external recognition that is bestowed upon a select group of employees for their efforts to advance the women’s agenda at the firm.
She has worked for Morgan Stanley for 11 years and led teams focused on the development of our leaders, Financial and Private Wealth Advisors, Client Service Associates and Private Bankers.
Prior to Morgan Stanley, Kara spent seven years at Prudential Securities where she was served as
Manager, Branch Management Selection and Development. She began her career in financial services in 1994 as a member of Merrill Lynch’s Private Client Development Program, a management program for college graduates. During her tenure at Merrill Lynch, Kara was a Marketing Associate in the Financial Planning Group. She was the recipient of the President’s Award for her work on a new product.
A graduate of Holy Cross, Kara received her MBA from the Stern School of Business at NYU while working full-time. She and her husband, Mark, have two children and make their home in New Canaan, CT.
